‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ is a novel in cartoons by the international bestselling author Jeff Kinney. It is one of my favourite books. The series comprises 15 books and I would like to give you an overview of the first book.

This book is about an 11-year-old boy named Greg Heffley and his crazy family. Greg’s elder brother Rodrick who is 16 years old, plays drums in his own band named Loader Diper. Greg also has a younger brother named Manny who is quite adorable but naughty and he always copies what his elder brothers do. Rowley, Greg’s best friend, just like him loves to play video games all day.

The comic illustrations in the book makes it very enjoyable to read, especially the thoughts and comments in the bubbles. The funniest part of the book is when Greg forgets his lunch at home and his mom appears in his class and embarrasses him.

The family keeps on doing crazy things and I love the way the author wrote it. I had a marvellous time reading this book and I would definitely recommend this book and the series to other readers.
