Inside the Temple, everyone was welcomed regardless of their caste or background, which shows the sign of unity and equality. As we entered the temple a melodious song started playing, these were holy hymns.
Being born and brought up in Delhi NCR, Dussehra to me always meant the last day of Ramlila which ends with great fanfare and festivity with a massive Ravan Dahan (burning of an effigy of Ravana). But my Kolkata born and brought up parents always told me about the Durga Puja celebrations of Kolkata.
Before Durga puja arrives, my family and I go for a stroll in the supermarket to buy new clothes. However, the crowds in the supermarket make me feel claustrophobic, so I prefer buying clothes online. But, sometimes readymade clothes don’t fit and tailors don’t accept orders by the time we realise that, so our trust lies in safety pins.
Let us embark on a journey that you and I will have while we go through my scrapbook, which has the fondest memories I have had in my travels over the past few years. A vibrant layout with my experiences and their photographs is what it is all about.
The phrase “as white as snow” came to my mind and I guessed that it must have originated from Finland. The journey to our temporary abode brought me closer to the real meaning of winter in Finland. Trees and houses were covered in snow and the roads were barely motorable.
Mathieu’s backpack slipped off his shoulder, as he gaped in horror. The cathedral was ablaze. Flames had engulfed the façade, and smoke was exiting from the tall arches.
The table was filled with pancakes, pita bread, hummus, quesadillas and other items you can’t even think of. A special holiday breakfast.
I went there with my mom, dad and my little sister. As we entered, there was a big map with all the directions to the zoo. My sister and I were thrilled to see some rare species of animals and birds. Animals were kept in large enclosures with strong fencing around.
