It all started when I was three years old, when my mother started reading bedtime stories to my brother and me. Stories like ‘The Little Red Riding Hood’, ‘Hansel and Gretel’ and many more. I really liked the stories she read and that was when I started liking bedtime stories. Then came a time when I started reading books on my own. Bedtime stories brought me comfort and whenever I was sad, I always opened my favourite bedtime story book which took me to the world of magic, fairies, goblins and pixies. It was a magical feeling! The first book that I read independently was “The Little Red Hen” at the age of five. As time passed, my liking of books changed. Now I like books like ‘Harry Potter’, ‘Percy Jackson’ and Geronimo Stilton. One of my all time favorite books is ‘The Land of Stories’ series. They remain an all-time favourite because they are based on fairy tales, written with vivid imagination and even though there is a twist to the tale, it brings me closer to my childhood. At the age of ten, once again I found my childhood, thanks to books.

Even today, my old bedtime story books have a place in my bookshelf and whenever I need a little bit of magic in my life, the fairy godmother comes to my mind first!
