Although the monastery was thrice devastated by widespread fire and even due to the earthquake, yet it never fails to provide a glimpse and understanding towards the cultural heritage that Bhutan and its people possess. The 54 meter high gigantic bronze statue of Buddha Dordenma stands over the capital city of Thimphu seems to be dedicated to look after the capital city and bring prosperity and peace to the people of Bhutan. The statue is situated within the Thimphu city and is surrounded by the panoramic views which seems like the Buddha sitting in his meditation invites everyone to visit and fill their hearts with peace in his presence.
