The densely wooded forests of the Tehri-Garhwal region has witnessed one of the most powerful uprisings staged by village women fighting for their rights over their forests. The Chipko Movement that gathered steam during the early 1970s had far-reaching consequences. Among other things it started a discourse on the rights of humans over that of corporations on the resources of nature. Noted environmentalist and activist Sundarlal Bahuguna will be remembered forever as the face of the Chipko Movement. This short film depicts the timeline and major incidents of the movement.
