William Wordsworth was born on 7 April, 1770. He was one of the founders of the Romantic Movement in English literature. ‘A Complaint’ was originally published in 1807 and is considered by many to be about his falling out with Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
There is a change—and I am poor;
Your love hath been, nor long ago,
A fountain at my fond heart’s door,
Whose only business was to flow;
And flow it did; not taking heed
Of its own bounty, or my need.
