Hello everyone, my name is Hari Singh and I am 7 years old. My father’s name is Kishan Singh and he is a farmer. We live in a village named Moga in the State of Punjab. We are celebrating Baisakhi today. Baisakhi is a festival which marks the harvesting of crops. On the day of Baisakhi, farmers thank God for a good harvest and pray to God for their good fortune. On this day, people dress up in fine clothes. Many people go to the fields where the men perform a dance called the Bhangra and women perform a dance called the Gidda.

Today I am going to the Baisakhi village fair. I will ride the giant wheel and the merry-go-round and watch a puppet show. My sister will buy new bangles. When we come back home, our mother will have a feast ready for us. At the end of the day, we will sing songs and bhajans praising God for his kindness. Everyone will have a wonderful time. I look forward to a good harvest and a prosperous Baisakhi every year.
