thespace.ink has collaborated with ‘Word Munchers’, a creative writing platform that trains and encourages kids and youngsters to hone their creative writing skills. thespace.ink will be publishing two short essays by students of ‘Word Munchers’ every Saturday.
I wanted to bake a cake for my mother on her birthday. My mother’s favourite flavour is strawberry, and I was in luck because it was strawberry season. I went to our garden and plucked some. My father went with me to the store to buy more ingredients. We bought vanilla, baking powder, and eggs. When I came back home I put all the ingredients in a bowl. My little brother helped me crack eggs. I finished making the batter, then I put it in the oven for half an hour. While the cake was baking I made the icing and chopped fresh strawberries for decoration. Just then my mother came home from work. She was surprised that I had baked a cake. We all had a slice, and my mother said “This is the best cake I have ever had!”.
