Priyom was born and brought up in Santiniketan and received his education at Visva Bharati University. Music is his first love. He is widely regarded as a talented singer of Rabindrasangeet, among contemporary Bengali vocalists. He also plays the role of Director at the Elmhirst Institute, Santiniketan.
