Debayudh Chatterjee is a PhD candidate in the Department of English at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research looks at how progressive Indian literature and cinema reimagine the left in the age of globalization and rising religious intolerance. Chatterjee is also a published poet in Bengali and translates extensively from Bengali to English and vice-versa. A Dirge for Dead Poets won the Hobart & Mary K Memorial Award in 2023.
