In the winter of 2019, my parents, sister, and I decided to take a trip to Thailand. We planned to fly there for a ten days’ vacation visiting Phuket and Bangkok. My father booked us a family-style villa in Phuket and a suite in Bangkok.
There was a tiny pool in our villa and direct access to the beach. It was so peaceful in Phuket. You could hear the soft gentle breeze through the palm trees and the thudding noise of coconuts falling on the beach. It was very different compared to the atmosphere of Bangkok. Our hotel in Bangkok was connected to a shopping mall. It felt similar to the hustle and bustle of Kolkata.

There was a petting zoo in Phuket, and I got to pet an orangutan. But in Bangkok, something unexpected happened. My parents, sister, and I visited Siam Paragon, a huge mall. I went to throw a wrapper in a dustbin. When I got back, I couldn’t find my parents. I nearly lost my mind and started crying. I sat on a bench when my mother came and got me a few moments later. I felt scared so I stayed close to my family. We also visited Ocean World there which was very pretty.
I enjoyed the warm winter of Thailand more than the comparatively colder winter in Kolkata. Thailand’s gentle breeze is so different from the cold, harsh winds in Kolkata. I hope to spend another warm winter there soon.
