Around 8:00 am we started walking towards Jivdhan Fort top. The dhaba owner turned up as our guide. The distance from the dhaba to the fort base is 5 km. The walk to the top is another 2 km.
The old city of Dubrovnik was declared a World Heritage site owing to its medieval architecture and fortification. The city, glowing brilliantly in the night, right beside the Adriatic Sea, is a sight to behold! It is fortified by a nearly 2 km long wall that includes five fortresses and sixteen towers and bastions.
Almost half-way between the Kanker town and the Kondagaon town, we took a right turn from NH30 towards the village. Around 4 km into that road, we reached our destination. The villagers were expecting us because the arrangements for our food and lodging were planned with them with the help of the NGO. We received a warm welcome from the community.
After a lot of deliberation, we finally zeroed in on a homestay called “Kojagar” at Amlasole village in Jhargram district, near Ghatsila.
We started our dream trek to Kedartal with a guide and four porters the next morning. It was a beautiful day. A gentle breeze was blowing around. A Pine, birch, bhuj cladded road greeted us with a smiley face. But our trek route was too steep and tough to begin with.
Potsdam is about 35 km from Berlin. As I took the train for the half hour ride, I pondered on how history changes course from time to time. Had I wanted to visit Potsdam before the Berlin Wall fell in 1990, perhaps I would have had to apply for a separate visa because it was in erstwhile East Germany.
The foundation of the temple is believed to have been built around 370-500 AD, with some people attributing it to a King named Ranaditya. But it was during the rule of Lalitaditya Muktapida in the 8th Century that the main temple was constructed in this giant form.
