#100SareePact – A Story of Six Yards by Anju Maudgal Kadam

Anju Maudgal Kadam and Ally Matthan formed the #100SareePact in 2015. The pact became a social media sensation soon after, drawing Indian women from all over the world to join in and share a piece of their lives on digital platforms. The pact has since then taken her places. #100SareePact became a link to connect Indian women across the global arena and became a symbol of female solidarity and an umbrella to bring together all these women under a shared love.

Anju Maudgal Kadam wears many hats. She is an entrepreneur, communication professional from Bangalore, the founder and nurturer of the internally acclaimed movement The 100 Saree Impact. Apart from that Anju is also a yoga instructor and gives ted talks.

In the video above she talks about the sisterhood that took shape with the #100sareepact and has held the members through for more than five years now. She mentions that her mother remained to be her inspiration as she always wore and still wears sarees. In this conversation with Dr. Amrita Ghosh, Anju opens up about her perception of the class divide and the challenges and emotions of weavers who make the magic called #100sareepact happen.
